SPAIN, Toledo, cob 8 reales, Philip II, assayer M-in-circle below mintmark oT to left, NGC MS 62, finest known in NGC census, ex-Casandra. Cal-748. 27.42 grams. Broad flan with full legends and crown, very sharp full inner details, richly toned over muted luster, hairline edge crack, an impressively well-centered and well-detailed beauty from a period of massive silver production coming from the New World (ca. 1580), rarely found without intrusive doubling or unevenness, and of course unique in this top grade above seventeen other entries in the current NGC census. Pedigreed to the Casandra Collection .
